The Bursary provides funding towards travel and subsistence expenses for tree recording projects that support the work of The Tree Register as approved by the Bursary Panel.
Details for people applying for support in 2021 will appear on our website later in 2020.
The Vicky Schilling Bursary will provide others who have a passion for trees the opportunity to share the pleasure she enjoyed by travelling around Britain and Ireland, visiting parks and gardens discovering our rich tree heritage.
Approved projects are wide-ranging and may include for example; discovering notable trees in gardens throughout Britain and Ireland, updating existing records, photographing champion trees, creating and promoting a champion tree trail in a public park or garden or, analysing Tree Register data for research into climate change and the distribution and growth rates of different species.
Donations go to the Vicky Schilling Bursary Fund in memory of Vicky to honour the significant contribution she made as co-founder of The Tree Register charity.
