Trees growing without a clearly defined single stem at ground level, as multiple stem or coppice:

Where possible the largest individual stem is also recorded at 1.5m for comparison with an individual tree.

Is it a bundle planting or coppice?
However it may have originated this is definitely a C tree!

This Beech is a fusion of stems and although appearing as a good solid bole is actually a bundle planting.
It should therefore be recorded as a C tree!

Believe it or not this is a Hazel!
Close inspection shows the short trunk is made up of several stems.

The Hafod Beech is part of a designed landscape and one of several deliberate bundle plantings.
