This database includes the definitive list of all champion trees for
the whole of the UK and Ireland. For example, searches will not produce
results for "the largest oak in your own county" or "all
oak trees above a certain size."
If you search for trees by county or property name it will not identify
whether the tree is a champion for height or girth/diameter. A tree
may also not be the outright champion but from a selected list of the
biggest or best. You will therefore have to search again on that specific
tree to confirm its status.
How to search
To search for a specific entry or entries, select Trees which
match the following criteria and the field you want to search on.
For example, where "Genus is Quercus" to find all trees from
the genus 'Quercus'.
You can then choose what order the results should be in, such as in "ascending
order of year".
Note: The 'Genus' and 'Species' fields must contain botanical names (eg. Quercus) and not common names (eg. Oak).
To find the tallest trees choose All trees that are sorted in Descending order of height.
